Methyltestosterone is a synthetic, oral form of testosterone used to treat low testosterone levels in men (hypogonadism), delayed puberty in boys, and, in some cases, advanced breast cancer in women. It is chemically modified (17α-alkylated) to survive liver metabolism when taken by mouth.
